I need to tackle “the High Incarceration of Black and Latino Males” with a respectful and responsible mindset. When working with incarcerated males and people in the government/police system, I need to be respectful at all times. I need to be aware of my bias, and need to be as open-minded possible. In addition to respect comes responsibility. I have a responsibility to this dilemma. I will be responsible and complete all of my goals on time and thoroughly. It is important that I help in every aspect that I can. Whether it be academically or emotionally, I will give back to my group and this dilemma, if not more, than it gave me. My love, courage, and aspiration will help me shape my actions toward this dilemma. My mission is to make an impact on this dilemma, and help bring awareness towards high incarceration of black and Latino males.

Partnership Mission Statements
Josh:
To work hard at providing successful help to this dilemma in the local spectrum and to realize that there is always room for improvement. To build relationships with new people and organizations by being reliable, generous, and understanding, and by putting the needs of others ahead of my own. To branch out by helping a new organization and those less privileged than myself, and by exploring different ways to help. To make my best effort to overcome any obstacles in my way. To set realistic goals for myself and my group. To be an unselfish teammate and always listen to my group’s ideas. To always remind myself that I cannot solve this dilemma, that I am helping it. To do everything I can to make a change or impact on this dilemma in the Bay Area.

Sean:
Experience and what a person takes out of each experience in their life is what makes them grow. When dealing with the dilemma of high incarceration rates of Black and Latino males, I will use my past experiences to better prepare myself for future challenges. Knowing that I am still very uneducated in this area I will approach it with an open mind acknowledging that there will always be something more to learn. Willing to take risks when tackling this dilemma will be the main attribute that will lead to a better understanding and movement towards change, whether it is on a large or small scale. Working alongside others who have had more experience in this dilemma will be a valuable resource, which I strive to have aligning goals with.
Carlos:
I will put forth every inch of effort both physically and mentally towards my dilemma in order to have a positive impact in my community. I will build permanent relationships and connections with new people that will last well beyond my work with them. I will understand that there is always room for self-improvement and upon realizing this I will seek to enhance my attributes to become a better philanthropist. When attempting to tackle this dilemma there will be obstacles in my way, but I will do all in my power, for the interest of my dilemma, to overcome these obstacles. Some of these obstacles may be to big for me to over come, and so I will accept defeat with my head held high and continue on my journey. I will be a team player at all times and play both the roles of an active follower and a leader at all times. Most importantly I will stay true to my morals and values at all times.
